Embark on an exhilarating 2-day trek to Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, located in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. After breakfast, you’ll drive for 1.5 hours to Imlil, a picturesque village in the Atlas Mountains, where you’ll meet your local guide and mule drivers. From here, you’ll begin your trek, heading through the Ait Mizane Valley. You’ll pass through the village of Aremd and make your way to the shrine of Sidi Chamarouch, a revered spot for both pilgrims and tourists. The route then continues across floodplains and mule tracks, climbing up to the Toubkal Refuge (3207m). The trek will take approximately 4-5 hours, with an elevation gain of 1507m, reaching the snowline in winter. Overnight at the refuge.

Day 2: Toubkal Refuge (3207m) – Mount Toubkal Summit (4167m) – Refuge – Imlil – Marrakech

Begin your ascent to the summit of Mount Toubkal early in the morning. The climb takes you up the south cirque, crossing streams and following a relatively straightforward path. However, the altitude and terrain can make the climb challenging. As you ascend, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. From the summit, the panoramic views are awe-inspiring, stretching from the Marrakesh Plain in the north to the Anti-Atlas and Sahara Desert in the south. After taking in the breathtaking vistas, retrace your steps back to the Toubkal Refuge for lunch, then descend back to Imlil. After a 9-10 hour day of trekking, you’ll drive back to Marrakech.
